Max Schwanitz
My role in EPOCA arctic
My name is Max Schwanitz and as a marine biologist and AWI Diving Supervisor for polar regions I am responsible for the AWI and EPOCA scientific diving activities in Ny Alesund. Together with a team of scientific divers I will organize and conduct the underwater sampling activities and provide the scientists with the requested material and samples.
My thoughts about the trip
The AWI dive team and me have been diving in the Kongsfjord for many years and gained a lot of experience in the underwater and environmental conditions. So, I think we can support the scientists in quite good manner and I am looking forward to another successful season at 79°N.
